It nestles in grounds of natural woodland sloping down to the shores of Windermere where there are boat launching facilities. Only 5 miles from the lively village of Bowness Avon Wood is an ideal base for touring the National Park stately homes and market towns. If you want to get away from it all this is the place. Accomodation is very clean and well presented. There was the odd low flying jet but not too much of a nusence . Peace and quiet and the hot tub was great for relaxing after a busy day. Mrs N

The photos do not do this lodge justice it is great! An excellent site the owners were friendly everthingthing you could need was there the hot tub was fabulous and the wine and chocs were a nice thought. We did lots of walking so the hot tub was much appreciated - thank you! Mr W

This lodge has a beautiful outlook over Lake Windermere with the mist over the mountains in the morning (in October) it is a fantastic view. The hot tub outside the bedroom is an added bonus. Mrs C
